Joan F. Gage

Joan F. Gage, 71 of Madrid, died Monday, July 20 at her home.

She was born March 20, 1944 in Reinbeck, daughter of Herman and Frances L. Rhode Horstman. She married Charles Walter Gage Jr. Nov. 23, 1963 in Waterloo.

Joan graduated from Reinbeck High School and was a homemaker.

Survivors include: her husband Charles of 52 years; a son, Kevin Gage of Holland; a daughter, Shelley (Mark) Leerhoff of Madrid; five grandchildren, Lauren (Joe) Clark, Sara (Travis) Ugland, Jordan, Brandon and Dakota Gage; a great grandson, Henry Clark; a great granddaughter, Juliauna Gage; a brother, Gordon Horstman of Reinbeck.

Preceded in death by her parents.

Services were 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 24 at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service, 300 West Ridgeway Ave., Waterloo, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation was from 4 until 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home on West Ridgeway and continue for one hour before services on Friday.

Joan loved gardening, cooking, fishing, and spending time with her grandkids.
