Vivian Cutler, 94
Vivian Cutler, 94, joined her Heavenly Father on the afternoon of Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at the Iowa River Hospice Home with her family at her side. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2015, at the Carlton Brethren Church with Pastor Harlan Nuss officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Dobson Cemetery. Born Vivian Geraldine Hall at home in Carlton Township, Tama County, Iowa, on June 18, 1920, she was the daughter of Vernal and Fern (Dobson) Hall. She received her education in the rural Tama county schools and graduated from the LeGrand High School’s class of 1937. On January 6, 1940, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Floyd Cutler, Sr. at home. They made Garwin their home where she was a loving wife, mother and homemaker and was employed at the family owned grocery store. Vivian was a faithful member of the Carlton Brethren Church near Garwin, the Garwin American Legion Auxiliary and the Women of Grace. Vivian treasured her faith and family. She enjoyed writing Christian based music and lyrics, golfing with Floyd, leading life with a positive attitude and smile. She was selected as “Queen” at Sunnyhill on Valentine’s Day 2015. She was also “First Lady” of Garwin when her husband was mayor. Left to cherish Vivian’s memory are her children: Cheryl Hill of Garwin; Craig (Helen) Cutler of Okatie, S.C.; Vicki (Lowell) LeMaster of Wonder Lake, IL; Julie Upah of Garwin; daughter-in-law, Cindy Cutler of Garwin; 13 grandchildren; as well as several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her brother Garry (Mary Ann) Hall of Marshalltown; sisters-in-law: Mary Ann Hall, Shirley Hall and Gay Cutler all of Marshalltown and Barbara Hall of Iowa Falls; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. In death, she rejoined her beloved Floyd who died in 2003, her son Floyd, Jr. son-in-law, Dan Upah, her parents, Vernal and Fern Hall; great-granddaughter, Denise Laughlin, step-grandson, Trent Rohach, and siblings: Larry Hall, Vernon (Virginia) Hall, Allen Hall, Merle (Rosemary) Hall, Don Hall and Audrey (Max) Bovenmyer; her brothers in law, Lloyd Cutler and Kenny Cutler.
