Roy P. Lauer

Roy P. Lauer, 86, of Waterloo, died Wednesday evening, June 27, at Allen Memorial Hospital of natural causes.

He was born April 21, 1926 in Reinbeck the son of Ernest F. and Rose Lutz Lauer. He married Arlene L. Mekosch on August 8, 1949 in Estherville.

He was employed as a truck driver for Nash Finch Foods for 15 years, and then retiring as a machinist at John Deere in 1987 after 22 years.

He is survived by his wife; 1 son, Kenneth (Sandi) Lauer of Kellyville, Okla.; 1 daughter, Janet (John) Robinett of Waterloo; 1 brother, Bud (Louise) Lauer of Waterloo; 1 sister, Norma Sprague of Mesa, Ariz.; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Ted and Ernest; and 1 sister, Ruth Wagner.

Services were held Saturday, June 30, at 10:00 AM at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
