Willys W. “Bud” Goos, 88

Willys W. “Bud” Goos, 88, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at the Western Home Communities Martin Center. He was born April 10, 1923 near Beaman, the son of Gus and Georgianna Witt Goos. He married Pearl H. Schulz July 8, 1944 in Gladbrook. Mr. Goos was a meat inspector for the Department of Agriculture, retiring in 1986, after 26 years of service. He was later employed by Reed Cadillac Olds and Community Honda, retiring in 2004. Willys is survived by his wife of Cedar Falls; two brothers, Clair (Marcella) Goos of Afton, and George (Patricia) Goos of Gladbrook; and one sister, Alice Condor of Denver, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Evan, Fred, Irwin “PeeWee” Vernon, and Roger Goos; and one sister, in infancy. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at First Congregational Church in Waterloo, with a private family burial in Maple Hill Cemetery, rural Gladbrook. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball. The casket will be closed.
