Kathleen Ann (Jerry) Gilge, 64, of Garwin, died Monday evening, February 6, at her home with her loving family at her side. Honoring her wishes, no services will be held at this time. Born Kathleen Ann Wedgwood on February 10, 1947, in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of Carl and Mary Helen (Erickson) Wedgwood. When she was eight years old, her mother passed away and she was raised by her father and step-mother Pauline. She received her education in the Duarte High School in California. On April 3, 1976, she was united in marriage to Jerry Gilge at her sister’s home in Gilman, Iowa. They made their home at Garwin where she was a school bus driver for GMG. She was active in the Garwin community serving as president of the community club, city council, leader for Girl Scouts and reporter/photographer for the Northern Sun Print in Gladbrook. Kathleen enjoyed camping, collecting turtles, gardening, fishing, visiting with friends over a cup of coffee and was humorous, fun-loving and not afraid to speak her mind! Left to cherish her memory are Jerry, her loving husband of thirty-five years, five cahildren: Dan (Traci) Gilge of Des Moines, Clay (Tracy) Gilge of Des Moines, Tesha (Scott) Sederburg of Green Mountain, Lynette (Brad) Harris of Grinnell and Eric Gilge of Des Moines, Twenty-three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, her siblings- Dean Wedgwood of Garwin, Susan Vail of Texas, uncles George Erickson of Hartford, Iowa, Dale Wedgwood of Marshalltown, and Deloss Wedgwood of Kansas City In death, she rejoined her parents.
