Nancy Ellen Carlan, 75

Nancy Ellen Carlan, 75, of Gladbrook, entered into eternal life, Thursday, December 29th, 2011, with her family by her side and under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice.  A Celebration of Nancy’s life was Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at the United Methodist Church in Gladbrook. Inurnment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery at a later date.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.vogelfuneralhomes.com.  Goettsch Funeral Home in Gladbrook is entrusted with arrangements. Nancy was born, April 29, 1939, the daughter of Victor H. and Marie (Cardinal) Dale.  She graduated from high school in 1953 in Chicago, and was united in marriage to James Goins.  They later divorced.  Nancy was united in marriage to James Carlan in Chicago in 1957.  James died in 1997.  Nancy loved to take her two wiener dogs, Barney and Bailey, for weekly visits to Westbrook Acres Nursing Home.  She was a member of Gladbrook United Methodist Church. Nancy will be missed by her children, Sue (Dennis) Keeler of Gladbrook, Jill (Marvin) Baker of Sutton, Alaska, Quincy Droigk of Gladbrook, 5 grandchildren, Jody (Holly) Droigk of Reinbeck, James Droigk of Reinbeck, Ceola (Dusty) Droigk of Crane, TX, Tammy (Scott) Ambrose of Bethany, PA, Marcus (Meghan) Mann of San Diego, CA, 6 great grandchildren, brother, Al, and her sister, Marge Gibson. Nancy’s family would like to thank her many special friends from Westbrook Acres Nursing Home, United Methodist Church, and her friends Ruth, Al, Pam and Mark, for their loving care they gave to Nancy.
