Obituary-Linda Baumeier

Linda Baumeier, 64, of Gladbrook, died Friday, December 23, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.  Visitation for Linda was held from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Monday, December 26, at the Peace United Church of Christ in Gladbrook.   Funeral services for Linda were held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 27, at the Peace United Church of Christ.  Burial followed services at the Maple Hill Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be directed in Linda’s name to her family.  For further information or to send a condolence please visit www.mitchellfh.com or call (641) 844-1234. Linda was born July 4, 1947, in Storm Lake, Iowa, the daughter of Delmar and Jackie (Luft) Blass.  She was raised on their family farm south of Early, Iowa, and graduated from the Crestland High School in 1965.   Linda continued her education at AIB and went on to graduate in May of 1966.  Linda was united in marriage on August 30, 1969, to Dennis Baumeier at the Presbyterian Church in Early, Iowa.   They made their home on the family farm outside of Gladbrook where their first born, their son Mike, and six years later their daughter Stephanie was born.  Linda raised her family and worked very hard on their family farm.   She enjoyed gardening, especially raising tomatoes and cucumbers, word-finds, crocheting and time with her beloved dog Buddy.  Above all, Linda loved spending time with her two granddaughters and her family.  She was a loving wife, mother, daughter and grandmother who will be greatly missed.  Linda is survived by her son, Mike (Marcee Wright) Baumeier of Gladbrook, Iowa, her daughter Stephanie (Brad) Rahlf of Evansdale, Iowa, her two grandchildren Allison and Emily Rahlf, her mother Jackie Blass of Early, her siblings: Doug (Karen) Blass and Barb (Pat) Dahm all of Early, Iowa and her many aunts.   Linda was preceded in death by her father Delmar, her husband Dennis, her in-laws Wayne and Gertrude Baumeier and her uncles.
