Robert L. Christensen

Robert L. Christensen, 74, of Dike, died Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls.

He was born July 28, 1937 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the son of Ejnar and Helen Fisher Christensen. He married Margaret “Maggie” Allspach June 19, 1959 in Stout, Iowa.

Mr. Christensen worked for Dike Hardware Plumbing and Heating from 1960-1968 and owned and operated Dike Pump Service from 1968 until his retirement in 2001.

Survived by: his wife of Dike; son, Kirk R. (Diane) of Carroll; two daughters, Keri A. (Ron) Hanus of Solon and Kris M. (Dave) Peters of Cedar Falls; five grandchildren; one brother, Charles (Jane) Christensen of Dike; and sister, Shirley (Gary) Harris of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by: a sister Mary Ellen Christensen.

Services were held Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Fredsville Evangelical Lutheran Church with burial in the Fredsville Cemetery, both rural Cedar Falls.

A memorial has been established.
