Peggy Faircloth

Peggy Faircloth, 77, formerly of Garwin, currently residing at the Westbrook Acres in Gladbrook, died there Saturday, May 28, 2011. Public graveside funeral services for Peggy was at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be directed in Peggy’s name to her family. Peggy was born January 2, 1934, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of William Gallentine and Winifred “Peggy” Harris. She was raised and educated in Marshalltown and attended the Marshalltown School System. Peggy was married to Russell Faircloth in Marshalltown, Iowa, on February 16, 1951, at the Central Christian Church. To this union five children were born. Throughout their lifetime together they made their home in Marshalltown, Gladbrook Lake, Rhodes and Garwin where Peggy raised her children. Peggy was also employed by Fisher Controls and retired after 25 years of dedicated service. Peggy and Russell enjoyed camping at Pikes Peak State Park in McGregor, Iowa. They also enjoyed traveling to Branson, Missouri where they spent time at the Blue Haven Resort and visited several antique shops. Peggy is survived by her children: Bill (Becky) Faircloth of rural Toledo, Dan Faircloth of Garwin, Susan (Laverne) Wegner of Gladbrook and Sarah (Dale) Kunch of Marshalltown, her nine grandchildren: Jason, Ryan, Joel, Dan Jr., Heather, Nicole, Vanessa, Stephanie and Holly, her thirteen great-grandchildren: Chance, Hunter, Kaylee, Braydon, Madison, Greenlee, Tyler, Janessa, Deven, Elsie, Ellie, Hope and Ayden, her four step-great-grandchildren: Caleb, Presley, Kyle and Blake, her three sisters: Doris Pansegrau of Toledo, Phyllis (Bob) Miller of Marshalltown and Juanita Dodd of Marshalltown, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. In death Peggy has rejoined her parents, her husband Russell, her son Russell Jr., her great-grandson Keegan Levis her brother Dale Gallentine, her sister Florence Hughes and her brother and sister in laws.
