Obituary

Born February 1959, died July 30, 2010. She is survived by her husband Scott, three children, Jerimiah, Nathanial, Laura, three grandchildren, Jada, Jerry, Sebastian, her parents W.H. and Connie Verduyn, her siblings Norbert, Jerome, Sebastian, Brian and Andrea, along with several nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her mother, Charlotte Verduyn.

Our butterfly has landed. She’ll no longer flit about. Her earthy wings no longer needed, in time they just gave out. She won’t be down for long though, I hear the Heaven’s door. God’s giving her new wings in Heaven where she’ll fly forevermore.

Obituary

Coy Ermalee Shinn, 83, of Traer, Iowa died on Thursday, August 12, 2010 of natural causes at Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer. Visitation was held at Overton Funeral Home in Traer on Sunday, August 15, 2010 3 PM – 6 PM. The service was held at Ripley Untied Church of Christ in Traer on Monday, August 16, 2010 at 10 AM. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Lineville, Iowa.

Coy Ermalee Shinn was born September 17, 1926 in Lineville, Iowa to Virgil and Elfleeta (Osborn) Bright. She attended Lineville School and graduated with her class in 1932. She continued her education at AIB in Des Moines. On February 7, 1946 she was united in marriage to Ralph Shinn in Lineville. They made their home in the Lineville, Buckingham later moving to Traer. Coy was employed at Brandt’s Grocery Store, was an assistant to Dr. Bezman and in later years was a secretary at the Roan and Powell Law Office until her retirement. She was a member of the Ripley United Church of Christ and the American Legion Auxiliary. She also wrote the Legion Auxiliary Newsletter receiving 2 awards at the state level. Coy is preceded in death by her parents and step dad Don Austin; sister Mary Lou Bethel and grandson Garrett Shinn. She is survived by her husband Ralph of Traer; sons Larry (Jackie) Shinn of Waterloo and Jerry (Bonnie) Shinn of Reinbeck; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and a brother Bill (Wanda) Bright of Mountain View, Mo.
