Gladbrook Women’s Club holds April meeting

GLADBROOK – On April 9, 2026, the Gladbrook Women’s Club held its monthly membership meeting and Senior Citizens Luncheon at the Gladbrook Memorial Building.

Becky Thoms Fevold presented regarding TF Clydesdales. This is a family-owned generational business. She had several photos, showed the difference between Clydesdale horseshoes and shoes for saddle horses, and discussed where they take the horses for events.

The meeting was called to order by co-president Rhonda Hein. Roll call was answered by 18 members discussing if they had ever ridden a horse.

The minutes from the March meeting were read and approved.

The Treasurer’s Report was read and approved.

Old Business:

-Hostess and committee sign-up sheets passed.

-Theater volunteer sheet routed.

New Business:

-Cedar Valley Hospice Volunteer Appreciation Dinner April 28.

-Membership Meeting will be at the Peppercorn Pantry in Aplington with the installation of new officers.

-Nominating Committee Report; Joan motioned and Avriel seconded to nominate the following officers. This was passed unanimously.

-Corresponding Secretary: Barb Bereckzi

-Historian: Jennifer Guyer

-Corn Carnival Float June 12; the driver and trailer are arranged. Discussed the need for riders, and the decorations.

-Spring Outing June 18; planning self-guided tours at Grout Museum and lunch after.

-Tama County Fair Food Stand; voted to have Women’s Club cover one shift rather than two.
