REINBECK – The fifth day of this summer’s 7-day RAGBRAI (Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa) route is set to make tracks through Reinbeck right around the lunch hour.

Last Friday, April 3, RAGBRAI organizers announced the pass-through towns for this year’s ride. After taking off from the overnight town of Marshalltown on the morning of Thursday, July 23, riders will log 86.2 miles and 2,487 feet of climb on their way to the next overnight town of Independence – passing through Green Mountain, Beaman, Grundy Center, Morrison, Reinbeck, Washburn, Gilbertville, and Jesup on the way.

Reinbeck is the official Meeting Town for Day 5, which, per the RAGBRAI website, means it is the official lunch stop and “the only place along the route that riders and support drivers can meet during the day. The Meeting Town will feature more vendors traveling with RAGBRAI.”

This will be a busy, busy summer for Reinbeck as it gears up to not only welcome RAGBRAI riders but also celebrate the town’s Sesquicentennial (150th birthday) over the July 4 holiday as well as America’s 250th anniversary.

Last month, RAGBRAI organizers in Marshalltown unveiled the community’s 2026 theme.

“We’re excited to officially share Marshalltown’s RAGBRAI theme and logo with our community – All Wheels Welcome. This theme reflects who we are at our core. Our mission is to make sure all riders, drivers, and you as community members enjoy the Marshalltown RAGBRAI experience. As a diverse and welcoming community, we’re proud to showcase a wide variety of food, entertainment, and people when riders roll into town,” the RAGBRAI Marshalltown Marketing Committee wrote in a press release. “As we prepare for this incredible event, we encourage you to help us spread the word and be part of creating an unforgettable experience.”
