Celebrate ISU Extension and Outreach Week in Tama County

AMES – Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Week is April 6-11. With county extension offices, specialists and staff located in all 99 counties, ISU Extension and Outreach connects Iowans throughout the state with education and resources. This celebration thanks Iowans for their support.

“ISU Extension and Outreach Week is one way we show our appreciation for the people who participate in our educational programs, as well as the many volunteers, community leaders, organizations, agencies and other partners who support our work in Tama County,” said Cheryl Bruene, county executive director.

ISU Extension and Outreach is part of the federal Cooperative Extension Service – a network of more than 100 land-grant institutions including Iowa State University and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, serving communities and counties across the United States. Every county in Iowa has an elected extension council that decides how to support ISU Extension and Outreach educational programs at the county level.

The Tama County Extension Council members are Cathy Gethmann, Patrick Henry, Deb Kupka, Don Linnenbrink, Judy Morrison, Clint Murty, Jackie Skala, Sandy Supianoski, and Tom L. Upah.

“In Tama County, ISU Extension and Outreach is here with you because learning happens where you are. You can find educational resources online and in your county – for you, your family, community, business or farm,” Bruene said.

Whether you are needing education for your job, wanting answers to yard and garden questions, looking for a summer day camp for school-age children, or needing food and nutrition information; ISU extension and Outreach can help provide answers.

Keep informed about ISU Extension and Outreach events by following the local Facebook page, visiting the county website at www.extension.iastate.edu/tama, or contacting the ISU Extension and Outreach Tama County office at 641-484-2703.
