MARSHALLTOWN – Tama and Marshall County Extensions are co-hosting a Horticulture Judging Workshop on Feb. 27, 2026, from 1-3:30 p.m. at the Marshall County Extension Office, 2608 S. 2nd St., Marshalltown. A snow date is scheduled for March 6.

This free workshop is open to 4-H leaders, County Youth Coordinators, Master Gardeners, and community members interested in horticulture judging. Participants will learn about:

-Horticulture fair exhibit expectations

-Judging criteria and evaluation techniques

-Hands-on judging practice

-Preparing horticulture exhibits for fairs

-Best practices for working with 4-H youth as a judge
