TOLEDO – At around 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025, the Tama County Communications Center received a 911 call about a man lying on the ground next to his car in Gladbrook. A Tama County Deputy arrived on scene at 7:04 a.m. and found that the man, an elderly gentleman, had passed away. Unfortunately, his death was related to a medical condition. Just five minutes before the 911 call, a healthcare provider had contacted the Sheriff’s Office requesting a welfare check on the same individual due to missed medical appointments. The medical examiner investigator was called and responded to the scene. The Sheriff’s Office completed its investigation. The man’s family and next of kin have been contacted.
