INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – On Saturday, Nov. 1, GMG Class of 2024 alumna Lillian Bru of rural Gladbrook was among the 5,162 FFA members who received the American FFA Degree during the 98th annual National FFA Convention & Expo held in Indianapolis – the largest cohort in the organization’s history.

The award is conferred annually to members who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, community service, academic excellence, and commitment to their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) programs.

According to the national organization, less than 1% of FFA members achieve the American FFA Degree. Abe Dieleman, Connor Murty, and Layne Murty are the only other GMG FFA alumni to receive the honor.
