Meet the Candidates 2025: Kyle Rasmussen, Gladbrook-Reinbeck School Board At-Large

Kyle Rasmussen.

Kyle Rasmussen

Hello, my name is Kyle Rasmussen. I live in Reinbeck with my wife, Tiffany, and our two sons – one attends Little Rebels Learning Center and the other attends G-R Elementary. We are also hosting an exchange student who is attending high school at G-R this year. As a Certified Financial Planner and owner of an Ameriprise Financial franchise, with offices in Reinbeck, Waterloo, Cedar Falls, Allison, and Charles City, I’ve built my career around helping families and business owners plan for their future.

Our family is deeply invested in the G-R School District and our communities. We believe in the power of education, community involvement, and a long-term commitment to betterment for the generations to come. I am eager to step forward as a candidate for the G-R School Board. I look forward to serving with integrity, transparency, and a focus on what’s best for the children and their future.

As a husband, father, and business owner, my focus has always been on building for the future. I am committed to being part of the solution for the G-R District. I believe in the importance of fostering unity, healing old wounds, and creating opportunities for all students to thrive – here and now, and in the future. I moved to the district a couple of years before the decision was made to close the Gladbrook campus – a moment that continues to stir strong emotions for many across our district. While I didn’t attend G-R Schools, in my 13 years living in the district, I’ve come to understand the deep impact made by the building closure. Witnessing this has helped to shape my perspective and deepened my commitment to listening, understanding, and moving forward together.

I’m running for the GR school board because I believe in the power of empathy, collaboration, and forward-thinking leadership. I’ve had the privilege of serving our community in many ways:

-Reinbeck City Councilman for seven years

-President, Grundy County Memorial Hospital Foundation Board

-Vice President, Little Rebels Learning Center

-Board Member: Oakleaf Country Club, RTU Board, and Reinbeck Economic Development Board

-Active in our faith community at Reinbeck Community Church

-Financial literacy educator in the G-R School District

-Volunteer, whenever opportunities arise; specifically for community breakfasts and fundraisers, Reinbeck Art Festival, and as a former youth group leader

I’m proud to call the Gladbrook-Reinbeck Community School District my home. I’m pledging to bring positive energy, my financial and leadership experience, and heart to the G-R School Board. Together, we can build a stronger, brighter, more inclusive school district for our GReat students.
