TOLEDO – In celebration of National 4-H Week, the Toledo Techs 4-H Club proudly launched a community outreach project to recognize and thank local farmers for their hard work and dedication. Club members assembled and prepared gift bags designed to help farmers take a well-earned break and feel appreciated by the next generation of agricultural leaders.
Each gift bag included a variety of thoughtful items such as notebooks, pens, snacks, and thank-you notes – all hand-colored by South Tama County third graders – along with educational materials provided by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. These resources offered helpful tips and information to support farmers’ well-being and agricultural success.
The gift bags were delivered to area cooperatives by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach staff, ensuring they reached farmers across Tama County. The project not only celebrated the spirit of National 4-H Week but also reinforced the club’s commitment to service, leadership, and community engagement.
Toledo Techs 4-H Club continues to inspire young people to make a positive impact through hands-on learning and civic responsibility. This initiative is one of many ways the club is living out the 4-H pledge: “My hands to larger service.”
