Gladbrook Women’s Club September News

GLADBROOK – The Gladbrook Women’s Club met on Sept. 11, with our program being presented by Tami McLean, “The Bra Lady.” She talked about how to get a good fitting bra and how to take care of it to make it last.

Roll Call was answered by 16 members and four guests by telling where they were when they heard the news of 9/11. We then followed with a moment of silence for those that were lost and the ones left behind.

Minutes of our May meeting were read and approved. The treasurer’s report was then given and approved.

Our Membership Secretary welcomed our new member, Jennifer Guyer.

A thank you was expressed to those members who volunteered at the Collectors’ Fair during Corn Carnival.

A thank you was given to those who worked on planning and decorating the float for the Corn Carnival parade. It was a great float!

A report on our June outing was given. Thirteen members and guests enjoyed a trip to the Des Moines Botanical Center followed by lunch in their cafe.

A thank you to all who worked the two shifts at the Tama County Fair Food Stand.

Some discussion about our upcoming brunch in November. We still need some jobs filled so please sign up if you haven’t already.

The budget for 2025-2026 was presented. A motion was given to accept as presented and seconded. Motion passed.

The meeting was then adjourned.
