GLADBROOK – A community-led candidate forum for those running in the November 2025 election for the Gladbrook-Reinbeck Board of Education has been set for Thursday, Oct. 23, from 7-8:30 p.m. in the upper level of the Gladbrook Theatre.

“This is your chance to hear from the candidates … before voting on November 4th,” organizers posted to social media regarding the forum. “Hear directly from them on the issues that matter most to the district. The event is free and open to the public.”

According to the social media posting, the forum will feature questions submitted ahead of time as well as allow time for audience questions the night of the event. Submitted questions were due by Oct. 10.

“Two seasoned and impartial moderators will manage the forum, ensuring a fair and efficient event for all candidates and attendees,” organizers further explained before noting the forum was “being organized by community members and is not sponsored by the G-R District.”

Per past Sun Courier reporting, the Gladbrook-Reinbeck Community School District has four seats up for election this fall including three At-Large seats and one seat to fill a vacancy.

Five individuals will be on the ballot for the three At-Large positions including incumbents Douglas Rowe of Gladbrook and Jennifer Wrage of rural Gladbrook. Newcomers Megan Witt of rural Reinbeck, Amanda Babinat of Reinbeck, and Kyle Rasmussen of Reinbeck also filed to run.

Wrage was appointed to the board this past April to fill the director seat left vacant by Jordan Wentzien’s resignation. According to Tama County Elections Administrator Jenna Cremeans, Wrage did not indicate on her Affidavit of Candidacy that she was running for the vacancy position. The vacancy will now be won by write-in vote.
