Reinbeck Art Festival, car show, & more set for Sep. 20

REINBECK – The Reinbeck Art Festival promises to be a day of color, music, art, and more in downtown Reinbeck!

The festival will take place on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. along Reinbeck’s Main Street. Nearly 30 artists will be in attendance this year. There will also be space for dozens of cars, tractors, and motorcycles along Main and Broad streets.

Featured artists include: David Norman (wood), Ginny Poppen (painting), Janet Drake (painting and printing), G-R Rebel Art Show, Bonnie Smith (painting), Alice Dolgener (painting), Teresa Johnson (painting), Marion Boyer (montage and painting), Angie Buffington (kettle corn) Kathy Etringer (jewelry and rock art), Christi Bolin (clothes and more), Dawn Dwyer (acrylics), Sam Cahalan (metal art), Kathi Fehr (weaving), Angíe Moore (watercolors), Susan Cunningham (weaving), Milt Madison (wood and nails), Chuck Freitag (demo on painting) Larry Kilmer (wood), Andy Mills (blacksmith), Becky Matthews (wood), Amanda Grau (fiber art, Raku-fired ceramics), Alyssa Thomas (watercolors), Amanda Sedivec (variety of art), Kelen Panec (air brush), and Maoko Umeda (Japanese art).

In addition, the Glampers are coming back to show off their campers; the always popular “Quilts and More” will be on display at UCC Church located just south of Main Street (225 N. Broad); and the nonprofit CEC of Reinbeck (504 Clark St.) will host “Reinbeck Artists Through the Years” featuring the art of former and current local artists.

There will be live music and entertainment including acoustic artist Adalynn Rose Budke from 9-11 a.m., guitarist Bryan Sink from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., and the G-R student showcase from 2-3 p.m.

The day will have many activities for children: a scavenger hunt, bleach/stencil your own t-shirt; LEGOs; chalk the circle; and a host of more activities in the Reinbeck Public Library (501 Clark St.).

Chuck Freitag, an artist of national recognition, will be painting all day on Main Street. There will be a digital display of G-R art under the tent in Bill Davis Park (412 Main). Kelen Panec, an air brush artist, will also add to the activities. Nancy Baisic will be “cutting portraits” in City Hall (414 Main).

The local PTO will have a fun photo booth. Maoko Umeda will have a hands-on Japanese activity to share.

Rick Grammer, a well known magician, will amaze the audience at 11 a.m. on Main. The “Street Performers” will dazzle the crowd with their skills from 10 a.m. to noon.

Local eateries and businesses will offer specials during the festival.

All this and more! Reinbeck’s Art Festival is the ‘place to be’ on Saturday, Sept. 20!

The festival is made possible by funding from the City of Reinbeck. The sponsorship of the street performers is courtesy of the local Women’s Club. Musicians Adalynn Rose Budke and Bryan Sink are sponsored by the Reinbeck Lions Club, while the Reinbeck Public Library sponsors the magician.
