REINBECK – All three downtown storefronts selected this year by the Reinbeck Development Committee to receive facade improvement grants have completed construction and are ready for the reveal! This week the Sun Courier is showcasing the new facade for The Dig Inn located at 113 Broad Street as the third and final feature in the series. The Dig Inn is owned by Ben and Holly Robertson who received a $2,000 facade grant for the improvements.

As part of the update, the building’s two outdated front windows along with the door were renovated. Smaller, more efficient windows were installed, and in the space around the new windows, an attractive flint-colored siding was added.

Each year, the Development Committee hands out grant applications to downtown businesses; those who received a grant the previous year are not eligible the following year. Past grant winners include Generational Wealth Partners, Evy Rose Boutique, Reinbeck Family Chiropractic, Nana Rosa’s Pizza, Johnson Properties, Indulge Cafe (now shuttered), and El Camino Restaurant.

“We started this funding so businesses can keep the front of their properties looking nice. It helps our whole downtown district,” Development Committee member Dale Wambold told the newspaper.

Job well done!
