REINBECK – All three downtown storefronts selected this year by the Reinbeck Development Committee to receive facade improvement grants have completed construction and are ready for the reveal! This week the Sun Courier is showcasing the new facade for Surly Steve’s located at 405 Main Street as the second feature in the series (last week Vitality Med Spa by E&R Infusions was in the spotlight). Surly Steve’s is owned by Steven Eastman Jr. and his wife Heather who received a $1,200 facade grant for the improvements.

As part of the update, the building’s former faded grey, blue, and black color scheme was replaced with sage green and hints of brown to match the interior’s retro, Northwoods bar vibe.

All the facade moldings were repainted as well in a coordinating cream, while additional decorative moldings were added around the slender windows.

Another welcome change, where the former ‘405’ image used to be, a brand new Surly Steve’s sign has been installed.

The Surly Steve’s update is most surely another rousing success for Reinbeck’s Facade Improvement Grant program.
