GRUNDY COUNTY – Grundy County Conservation and the Grundy County Heritage Foundation recently received a $5,000 grant from Corteva Agriscience toward 2025 efforts to close the Pioneer Trail gap. Plans for the trail include utilizing the Hwy 175 right of way to connect the existing trail at Gutknecht Roadside Park to Reinbeck’s city park. A hard surface trail will be placed on the back slope of Hwy 175, allowing trail users to travel from Reinbeck to near Grundy Center in a safe way. “As we continue this project to connect Grundy County communities along the trail, we are always very grateful for any and all support we receive. Thank you, Corteva!” Grundy County Conservation posted July 1 on Facebook. Donations to close the gap are still needed and can be made payable to Grundy County Heritage Foundation, 204 4th Street, Morrison, IA 50657.
