TOLEDO – Last week’s dark gloomy Monday morning saw the regular group of meeting-goers stacked into the Tama County Board of Supervisors’ chambers. First up on this week’s agenda was Dianna Cowan with a tax sale property. After some discussion, the supervisors approved the Clutier property sale to Cowan for a portion of the tax at approximately $3,300. Cowan plans to open a general store at the location.

Next up was an update for public health due to staff changes. The supervisors approved the name changes for those who can use the public health credit card, after a noteworthy conversation about notarizing notaries.

The Tama County Engineer reported that grading is still being done on B Avenue south of 220th. Denco worked on and repaired various culverts in the county. The bridge crew is working on the LL Avenue bridge, and the snow fronts are being put on in preparation for winter. A road use agreement with Mid-American was approved to be closed out.

The supervisors approved having the first and second tier canvasses for the general election on Nov. 13 and Nov. 19 at 8:30 a.m.

Next week’s meeting was changed to Tuesday, Nov. 12 due to the holiday.

Claims totaling $165,244.10 were approved.
