Gladbrook participants test their single luck with horseshoe pitching at state fair
DES MOINES – Participants from around Iowa including right here in the Tama-Grundy Publishing coverage area competed in the Open Singles Horseshoe Tournament held on Friday, August 9, at the 2024 Iowa State Fair.
The Fair hosts both Championship and Open Class competitions every Fair day. Division winners are crowned daily. All Horseshoe Pitching competitions take place on the clay courts just east of Farm Bureau Pioneer Hall.
Aug. 9 winners included Luke Smith of Gladbrook who took first in Open Singles Class C and Zach Smith, also of Gladbrook, who took second in Open Singles Class A.
