TOLEDO – Last Monday morning, before the heat decided to settle on Tama County for the day, the usual band of locals gathered for the Board of Supervisors weekly meeting. The county engineer gave his report saying they are still working on cleaning up debris from the flooding a few weeks back.

Work on 315th Street has finished, and Manatt will handle the rest. Work on P Avenue continues, and the engineer will meet with Iowa Bridge and Culvert to see about the project on Lincoln. Quotes have been received for a skid loader. On July 1, there will be a public hearing to vacate part of L Avenue at 9 a.m. The county’s contract with Von Boker and associates was terminated.

A tax sale to Yordanica was approved.

The Board of Supervisors’ meetings will officially begin at 8:30 a.m. from now on.

Several end of year transfers were approved. The FY25 road transfers and FY25 appropriations were also approved.

Claims totaling $693,565.16 were approved.
