Iowa Bible Reading Marathon dates announced

In 2016 a vision was given that the Bible should be read from Genesis to Revelation out loud over the State of Iowa in all 99 counties. Thousands participated in reading it aloud at every County Courthouse. Hebrews 4:12 says “For the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and morrow, and is a discerner of thoughts and intents of the heart.” It speaks! Reading the Word into the atmosphere helps to break down the strongholds over this county, state, nation, and world. The battle is won in the heavenlies before it ever reaches the courts of the natural. We need to be praying for the hearts of people to change and strongholds to come down, always remembering our war is not against flesh and blood, but principalities and powers of the unseen world. (Ephesians 6:12)

The whole Bible has been read in Tama County since 2016. When COVID was on, many read at their place of choice so now, many read at the courthouse and some read at their place of choice. This year the reading will be from June 24 to the 26 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. A card table and chairs are set upon the east side of the Tama County courthouse lawn. If you would like to read a section at the courthouse or at your place of choice, contact Phyllis Dunlap at 319-239-3028 or msdunlap@fctc.coop.

In 2018, a vision was added to be obedient to 2 Chronicles 7:14. “If my people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” On July 7 (7 month) 14th at 1:30 p.m. a section of the Bible will be read at the Tama County courthouse lawn along with a section read at all 99 courthouses and the Bible will be read from Genesis to Revelation over the State of Iowa. Now there are other states and countries partaking in this reading. If you would like to be a part of this, let Phyllis Dunlap know also. At that event we will also have a time of prayer and song. Everyone is welcome to come to either event, be present and listen. Bring a lawn chair to this one. Come and help fight this Spiritual Battle our county, state, nation, and world are engaged in.

One more event you are welcome to attend is June 23, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. meeting again on the Tama County Courthouse lawn to pray and sing before the beginning of these events. Again, everyone is welcome, bring a chair and come and join us.
