Gladbrook Women’s Club April News
The Gladbrook Womens’ Club served a salad luncheon for the Senior Citizens on Thursday, April 11. Melinda Ruopp and her K-9 Police Dog Lizzy presented a very informative program on working police dogs.
Co-President Joan called the meeting to order with twenty two members answering roll call. The minutes of the March meeting were read and approved and the current Treasurers’ report was given and also approved.
Nominations were presented for the 2024-2025 officers. A motion to approve the slate of officers was made Vivian and seconded by Karen L. The positions nominated and voted in are as follows; Co-President, Rhonda Hein; Treasurer, Kristi Reed; Recording Secretary, JoAnn Ruopp; and Corresponding Secretary, Barb Bereczki. Officers continuing their terms are; Co-President, Avriel Koester; Membership Secretary, Joyce Swangel; and Historian, Karen Handorf.
Marcy offered a trailer that could be a possibility for a float in the Corn Carnival parade. Ideas to go with the “Neon Era” theme were discussed.
The board will be the Co-Chairs of the Fair Food Stand Committee. We will be working at the concession stand on Thursday, July 18.
The budget committee will be setting up our budget and presenting it at the May meeting.
The club is invited to the CV Hospice appreciation on April 30. Joan will RSVP for anyone that would like to go.
The May meeting will be at the Peppercorn Pantry in Aplington. A letter of invitation will go out to potential members inviting them. We will meet at the Methodist Church at 10:30 to carpool.
