Military Leadership Experience Fuels Aspirations for Tama County Sheriff

Tama County Sheriff’s Office Detective Trevor J. Killian has recently been selected for his second assignment as the next 607th Military Police Battalion Command Sergeant Major in Grand Prairie, Texas. The Command Sergeants Major is the senior most noncommissioned officer in the Army. The 607th MP BN presents unique challenges as it boasts the largest Battalion in the Army Reserves. Assuming responsibility for a substantial $5 million budget within the military is a profound testament to his fiscal acumen and administrative capabilities. This experience is invaluable in Trevor Killian’s journey toward becoming the next sheriff. Managing such a significant budget demands precision, strategic planning, and a keen understanding of financial responsibility – qualities that seamlessly translate to the requirements of a sheriff’s role. In the heart of Tama County, a seasoned law enforcement professional is celebrating a remarkable nearly 25-year service journey. As a Detective, Firearms Instructor, LEIN (Law Enforcement Intelligence Network) member, former D.A.R.E. Instructor, and active participant in the Marshall/Tama County Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Coalition, Detective Trevor Killian demonstrates a pillar of strength within our community. He also volunteers in his community as a driver’s education instructor with the South Tama and Grinnell School District and is a founding South Tama Lions Club member. Serving in law enforcement and the military while actively volunteering in the community demonstrates a well-rounded commitment, showcasing a diverse skill set, leadership qualities, and a genuine dedication to public service and community welfare.
