Gladbrook Women’s Club January News
The Gladbrook Women’s Club met on Thursday, January 11 with Lynne Sash presenting the program on Wartime Cooking. She displayed many cookbooks that used rationed goods to provide meals. Ration books were discussed and talked of ration points and propaganda. The cookbooks even had information on how to involve everyone in the household in the war efforts!
The meeting was called to order with seventeen members answering to, “What is on your bucket list this year?”
A thank you was read from the Gladbrook Library for our donation. We have two new members joining us.
The final Holiday Brunch report was given. It was voted to again do the Holiday Brunch in the fall of 2024.
Everyone should be thinking of projects, programs, and officer nominations for our next meeting.
In new business, Avriel has several pairs of dress shoes that were used in decorating for past Holiday Happenings. With prom season coming it was asked of thoughts of selling the shoes. Thoughts were exchanged and a couple of people will work on that idea.
The meeting was adjourned with a IA Winter poem.
