GLADBROOK – The sounds of the holiday season filled the upper floor of Gladbrook’s City Centre last Thursday evening thanks to teacher Kennedy Dye and the tiny tots at Gladbrook-Reinbeck Preschool who staged a winter concert for parents, relatives, and friends.

Public preschool returned to the community this past fall through a partnership between the G-R school district and Gladbrook’s Crayon Corner Learning Center.

The new three-days-a-week, half-day program is taught by Dye who is in her first year as a licensed teacher.

A dozen preschoolers aged three and four performed a trio of pieces from the whimsically decorated stage including a song about Santa Claus, a dance number, and a bells song.

Prior to the concert’s start at 5:30 p.m., G-R Elementary Principal Shaun Lehmann provided brief opening remarks which included thanking Dye along with her patient students for their performance as well as the community for their support of the new program.

Following the short, yet stellar concert, students and their guests were invited to decorate cookies and enjoy the holiday displays still set up in the building as part of Gladbrook’s recent Festival of Trees event.
