REINBECK – Eric Dinsdale, a young member of the Reinbeck Public Library, and his family recently completed the monumental task of reading 1000 books before kindergarten.

Eric said his favorite spot to read is on the couch and his favorite book to read is “Balloons, Balloons, Balloons” by Dee Lillegard.

Also, his favorite food is noodles, he added, and his favorite color is blue.

Eric’s parents offered some advice for future challengers: “This challenge is definitely possible! We have been surprised by his use of new vocabulary. Both mom and dad read and it can be an average of five books a day. We did learn that it doesn’t have to be 1000 different books but that our rereading his favorite books counts too.”

Congratulations, Eric!
