2023 GMG Flag Raising…Bee what you want to Bee!!

The GMG Elementary students and staff celebrated the Opening Day of School with a Flag Raising Ceremony provided by the Gladbrook American Legion Post 127 and the Gladbrook Legion Auxiliary.

Elementary Principal Stacie Busch welcomed everyone and introduced Auxiliary Americanism Chairman Lisa Reinhard. Dressed as a bee, Reinhard had the rapt attention of the children as she challenged them to “Work to be what you want to be!! I hope you choose to be KIND… HONEST…HELPFUL…VOLUNTEER… and are RESPECTFUL to others no matter what others choose to be.”

She closed by saying, “All these choices make you a better student and a better friend. So ‘bee’ these things!”

The new flag was then raised and the children recited the Pledge of Allegiance. It was extremely hot standing in the sun, but the children were very attentive and respectful.

A great start to a great new school year!
