Rebels score convincing win over Don Bosco

GLADBROOK — Top-ranked Gladbrook-Reinbeck beat Don Bosco for the first time in five tries in 8-Man football, topping the Dons 34-21 last Friday night.

G-R quarterback Isaac Clark was 7-for-17 passing for 168 yards with two touchdowns, finding Treyvon Herron and Hudson Clark for scoring strikes.

Austin Vaverka had five carries for a team-high 72 yards and a touchdown for the Rebels, and he also picked off a fourth-quarter pass for the defense. Clark ran for 57 yards and one touchdown, and Drew Eilers added a 21-yard TD dash.

Vaverka had a team-high 10 tackles while Eilers and Michael Boyd had eight apiece.

Quarterback Kaiden Knaack ran for 187 yards and three touchdowns for Don Bosco.

Tomorrow night (Thursday, Aug. 31), the Rebels are scheduled to take on Tripoli at home. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
