Garwin children celebrate Easter with the help of local Ambulance crew

The bigger-than-life Easter Bunny is pictured surrounded by little ones eager to get up close and say, "Hi!"
The horn sounded and the little ones were off to fill their baskets with colorful eggs. The hunt was held at Garwin City Park.
It was a fun time for families as they participated in the Easter Egg Hunt. Following the collection of the eggs, the kids emptied the candy-filled eggs and returned them to the Ambulance crew for use next year. Pictured are Sidney Catherwood, Breanna Burgess, Bently Camancho, Cesar Camancho, and Lily Camamcho.
Sporting classy bunny ears, 13-month-old Tyler Posusta took in all the activity.
Lydia Heldenbrand was not sure about the bunny, but was brave enough for a quick picture.
Macie Hedman, 2, loved the bunny and had fun collecting her basket full of eggs.
The Garwin Ambulance Crew has been in charge of the annual Easter Egg Hunt for an unknown number of years. Ambulance crew member Sherry Parks said, "This is my 31st year. We have held the hunt in all kinds of weather from snow to sunny and warm. The city of Garwin sponsored the event." Pictured are crew members Chelsea Parks-Medhus, holding A.J., and Joe and Sherry Parks.
Mom Joshlyn Weaver arrived early for the Garwin Easter Egg Hunt. She and her children Annistan and Cooper were ready to gather eggs when the horn sounded.
Annistan Weaver collected her basket full of pink eggs to match her sweatshirt.

GARWIN – The Garwin City Park was full of activity as area children gathered for the annual Easter Egg Hunt. There were two areas set up. The younger children’s eggs were scattered on the concrete for easy picking up to fill their Easter baskets. The older children congregated on the north side and faced a bit of a challenge as they searched the grass for eggs.

The city of Garwin provided funding for the event. And the Garwin Ambulance Service Crew filled the plastic eggs with assorted candy and hid the eggs. Following the hunt, the kids got the candy and the eggs were collected to fill for next year. No one seems to know how many years the Easter Egg Hunt has been held, but Sherry Parks noted that this was her 31st year spending the day before Easter contributing to the success of the event. There were several years that the eggs were “hidden” at the GMG gym as the weather was inclement.
