Tama Co. Historical Society receives archive chronicling Ebersole, Dvorak families

TOLEDO-The Tama County Historical Society has received a large collection of photos, documents, and other materials related to the Ebersole and Dvorak families.

The collection, which chronicles more than 150 years of the families in Tama County, includes framed photos and documents, certificates, Masonic items, books, albums, newspaper clippings, and a detailed history of Raphael Ralph Raymond Dvorak (1908-1975) and Mary Ruth Ebersole Dvorak (1909-1999).

Among the items are photos of some of Tama County’s earliest pioneers, including Cyrus Ebersole (1850-1931) and his wife, Sara Greesly Ebersole (1850-1937); John W. Ebersole (1841-1910); and Peter Carson (1835-1910); as well as many of their descendants.

The family archive was donated by Cyndi Dvorak Kosyak, granddaughter of Raphael and Mary Ebersole Dvorak. Additional information about the family, including biographies of Raphael and Mary Ebersole Dvorak, can be found on the Tama County Historical Society website, www.tamacountyhistory.org.

The Ebersole-Dvorak collection is now on display at the Tama County Historical Society and can be viewed during regular hours, Tuesday through Friday, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and first and third Saturdays, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
