Big February for GMG FFA

FFA has been very active these last few months.

Members of FFA went to Iowa’s Capital on January 3. They listened to speakers that encouraged the importance of agriculture.

Members were also able to take a tour around the capital. In late February there was an FFA speaking contest.

FFA members Alice Hunt, Reese Dieleman, Adelyn Sienknecht, Dylan Mathern, Lilly Bru, Rhianna Murty, Anna Mussig, and Jay Bru competed at the Sub District FFA Contest.

Every member that attended advanced to districts with either a 1st or 2nd gold ranking.

The week of February 21st was National FFA Week. It was celebrated at GMG in many ways.

Last Tuesday FFA members were interviewed on KIX 101.1 about National FFA Week.

The activities for the week were interrupted by the weather. Some of the events were held the week of Feb. 27.

Every day of the week during our morning announcements FFA created a trivia question. GMG students were able to answer and had the chance to win a prize.

The FFA held a breakfast on Feb. 28 to show appreciation to the GMG faculty and staff.

Another way the FFA celebrated was by having different dress up days. Tuesday was Dress as a Farmer, Wednesday was Hat Day, Thursday was ‘Merica Day, and Friday was Blue and Gold Day.
