The December meeting was held upstairs at the City Center. The meeting was called to order with 22 members answering the roll call with a Christmas tradition or memory.

A lunch of pizza, salad, and dessert was served while enjoying the beautifully decorated Christmas trees that were part of the Festival of Trees display.

Minutes of the November meeting were read and approved. The Treasurer report was given and approved.

A committee reported packing 400 Santa Sacks for the tree lighting festivities. 50 of those will go to Westbrook Acres.

The Festival of Trees committee reported that the Womens’ Club tree was decorated in pinks with vintage dolls.

The Festival of Trees Judging committee reported that judging was done on the 7th and the two judges were given Corn Carnival cookbooks as a Thank You. The winners were announced as follows: Youth winner was Gladbrook Kids’ Club; Individual winner was the Iowa Hawkeye tree decorated by Nickie Paustian; Theme winner was Alpha Study Group; Organization winner was the Gladbrook Lions Club; Business winner was Westbrook Acres; and the Church winner was Peace Church. Thank you to all of those who participated in the Festival of Trees!

A reminder of the upcoming holiday get-together at Legends on December 16 was given.

A motion made by the board for an addition to the by-laws was read. It will then be read and voted on at the January meeting.

The January 12 meeting will be held at UMC with a program on bees.
