Early to county office – Kriegel, Kemper assume county duties
On the morning of Nov. 21, the Tama County Board of Supervisors swore in County Treasurer Amanda Kriegel and Recorder Amelia Kemper.
Kriegel and Kempter pledged their oath to the office early due to the vacant Treasurer and Recorder positions.
Kemper was temporarily appointed County Recorder by the Board on Aug. 8 after Deborah Kupka’s retirement on July 29 until the fall election. She won the Tama County Recorder seat, unopposed, with 5,500 votes.
District 1 County Supervisor Elect Curt Hilmer and County Attorney Elect Brent Heeren will follow Kriegel and Kemper to swear their oath in January 2023.
