The community of Gladbrook celebrated Beggars’ Night in annual fashion on Sunday, October 30, and one of the most spooktacular spots to be was at the Westbrook Acres nursing facility as residents enjoyed the evening by handing out treats to eager youngsters dressed up in their Halloween finery.

Roughly 30 Westbrook residents participated in the activity – forming a large circle around the perimeter of the main dining room while holding buckets of candy.

As residents and staff readied themselves for activity, the queue at the door began well before the 6:00 p.m. start time with eager young trick-or-treaters doing their best to wait patiently for the night to begin.

It appeared a fun time was had by most as the event got underway, from members of the Westbrook Acres staff who dressed up in fun costumes to the residents who smiled with delight at each youngster who passed by their chair.
