The Gladbrook City Council set Sunday, October 30, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., as Beggars Night in Gladbrook. Along with Trick-or-Treat, Commercial Club is sponsoring a variety of activities around town and on Main Street.

The excitement in town starts off at 5:00 to 5:45pm with supper at the United Methodist Church serving hotdogs, chips, and water.

Your next stop can be Trick-or-Treating at Independent Living from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30pm and right next door is Westbrook Acres Nursing Home with Trick-or-Treating from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. At both places the little goblins can enter the facilities where the residents will be gathered to greet the children. The nursing home residents are especially excited and looking forward to seeing the kids in person again! The haunted house at the Library on Main Street will run from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Two blocks of Main Street will be shut down to provide a safe walking area for the children to go between activities where there will be Halloween fun and games. There will be vehicles parked on the street for Trunk-and-Treating, a fire truck and ambulance parked, games and Halloween craft for the kids, businesses will have Trick-or-Treating, and the Library haunted house.

To participate in Trunk-and-Treat on Main, everyone is invited to drive downtown, park your vehicle as usual, pop the trunk and be ready for the little goblins to stop by for treats. For even more fun, decorate your vehicle/trunk and dress up in costume.

To accommodate the Sunday night movie (7:00 p.m.) at the theater (Halloween Ends – rated R) please note that parking on the east side of the Theater will be reserved for those going to the movie.

Join us for a safe, fun, and ghostly-good evening.
