Grundy Co. Conservation to hold Pioneer Craft Fair raffle

The print “The Saturday Evening Soak" by Charles Freitag will be raffled off this year as part of Grundy Co. Conservation's annual Pioneer Craft Fair.

This year’s Pioneer Craft Fair raffle is a print by Charles Freitag, titled “The Saturday Evening Soak.” Tickets are available for purchase now at the Grundy County Conservation Board Office at 204 Fourth St. in Morrison or on the day of the Pioneer Craft Fair.

The Pioneer Craft Fair will be held Sunday, September 11, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Grundy County Heritage Center Museum and grounds, located in Morrison. The drawing for the raffle will be held at 4:00 p.m. in front of the brick museum in Morrison.

Along with the Freitag raffle, there will be live music by The Vinyl Frontier, a performance from the Waterloo County Cloggers, and a Show and Shine car show. There are many activities for children, including pony rides, a petting zoo, a scavenger hunt, face painting, a treasure hunt in the hay, and a live book reading outside the one-room schoolhouse by author Susan Ewoldt, a Grundy County native .

There will be mums and pumpkins available for purchase. Come hungry and purchase lunch in the Heritage Center. The log cabin will have butter samples and fireplace-cooked stew available at a small cost. Jump on the school bus and ride it to the Blackhawk Creek Area, then hop on the horse-drawn trolley and take a rdie in the wilderness to see the Buckskinners’ Camp.
