Gladbrook Corn Carnival Collector’s Fair sees huge success

The 25th annual Corn Carnival Collector’s Fair was a huge success with 26 exhibitors. The theme was “Century of Celebrations.” Suzanne Boldt won the adult door prize a Corn Carnival cookbook and the youth winner was Cade DeWitt, who won $10 in Gladbrook Theater Bucks.

Exhibitors were: Eleanor Lott, door stops & wall hangings; Suzanne Boldt, pumpkins; Betty Schmitz, Rath memorabilia; Linda Haack, accordions in memory of Clarence Haack; Kathy Anderson, wall hangings; Nancy Heise, Winnie the Pooh; Nikki Clapp, national & foreign Legion, Auxiliary, & SAL pins; Rhiana Braun, rocks; Peace UCC, memorabilia over their 135 anniversary; Kristi Reed, music boxes; Deb Koester, Corn Carnival t-shirts; Deb Roberts, dishes; Everett Siddell, miniature John Deere collection; Marilyn Ingham, penguins; Virgil Sievers, mustache cups & shaving mugs; Keith Poling, old toys; Holden Rice, Star Wars; Judy Wendel, Schade Lime & Rock memorabilia; Angie Lookingbill, boxes in memory of Connie Sievers; Mary Handorf, marathon medals from every state; Bob Kienzle, trucking memorabilia; Mark & Linda Goos, yardsticks; Marilyn Carstensen, thimbles; Karen Handorf, Corn Carnival pottery; Gladbrook Women’s Club, history of club; & various contributors, past and present Gladbrook business memorabilia.

We want to thank all the participants for sharing their precious collections. We know it is a lot of work but we also know the viewers love it and it adds a great deal to the Corn Carnival activities. We also want to thank everyone who came in to enjoy the collections and the 100th Corn Carnival. The Collector’s Fair Committee is comprised of Karen Handorf, Pauline Flamme, and Jeanne Paustian.
