To celebrate 80 years of serving farmers, the Corteva Agriscience production facility in Dysart welcomed the community during an Open House on June 17.

Approximately 150 guests, including local farmers, retired employees and community members, attended the event. Team members led facility tours, where guests learned about the site’s seed production work, including the packaging, cleaning and shipping of corn, soybean, silage inoculant, alfalfa and wheat seed.

“As I think about Dysart reaching this historic milestone, it is a true testament to the community that supports us and the farmers who rely on seed brands from Corteva Agriscience to help create their livelihood,” John Schutt, Dysart location manager for Corteva Agriscience said. “It’s amazing to know that seed grown by local farmers has made such a big impact on crop production around the world for eight decades.”

The Dysart plant’s roots began in 1942 with the purchase of Dysart Canning Company. The site now has approximately 50 employees and 20 seasonal employees and works with nearly 150 local farmers who plant, manage and harvest seed production acres.
