Gladbrook to hold Memorial Day Services

The Gladbrook/Lincoln area Memorial Day Services will be held on Monday, May 30. The Avenue of Flags Committee, which includes members of the Gladbrook American Legion & Auxiliary and Lincoln AMVETS coordinate the services. The public is invited to attend all of the services on Memorial Day.

This year, Reverend Gary Chatterson, Lincoln Salem Church, will have the address at the 11:00 a.m. service at the All Veterans’ Memorial (Gladbrook). Henry Horstmann, Korean War veteran, will raise the U.S. flag. Brandon Strohbehn will perform taps and June Bessman will be at the keyboard. Program details below. All short services include laying of wreaths, honor guard & firing squad and Taps. Details of short services below.

Everyone is invited to the Memorial Day Dinner at the Memorial Building, serving 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Menu includes BBQ/plain pulled pork sandwich, home-made potato salad, baked beans, relishes, variety of cakes, and beverage all for $12/plate. Dine in or carry-out.
