Grundy County 100+ Women to meet at the Conrad Mansion

One of the Grundy Co. 100+ Women donations in recent years was to the City of Reinbeck for the purchase and construction of playground equipment. The group has also contributed to the Little Rebels Learning Center and to the American Legion Post in Reinbeck. With additional support from the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation, the women's group has awarded more than $96,000 to various non-profit local projects over the last several years. – Photo provided

Make plans to join the Grundy County 100+ Women Who Care organization on Tuesday, April 12, for a unique opportunity to see inside the luxurious Conrad Mansion–home to a spectacular wedding and event center.

The event will also provide an opportunity to learn more about 100+ Women Who Care. The Grundy County 100+ group will hold its spring meeting from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on April 12 at the grand venue just north of Conrad. Ladies are encouraged to come a half hour early or stay after the meeting for a short tour of the breathtaking estate.

The 100+ organization is composed of women from Grundy County who want to make a difference locally.

To date, with additional funding from the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation, the 100+ group has donated $96,100.50 to worthwhile non-profit projects in Grundy County in just a few short years.

Donations have provided support to Operation Threshold’s Food Pantry, the American Legion Post 242, the Beaman Conrad Emergency Response Team, the Center Theatre, the City of Reinbeck playground, several area school and childcare facilities and more.

The 100+ Women Who Care group meets three times each year to hear brief presentations by non-profit organizations within the county. Group members then select one charity at each meeting to support, and members contribute $100 directly to the chosen charity at that meeting. In this way, the 100+ group is able to make a significant, collective impact on a local non-profit in just one hour.

Those interested in learning more about the Women Who Care organization and their impact on Grundy County are encouraged to visit Grundy County 100+ Women Who Care on Facebook, or e-mail grundycountywwc@gmail.com for more information.

In addition to our April 12th event, the 100+ group will meet again on June 28th in Wellsburg and October 18th in Grundy Center.
