What motivated you to run for this office?

I’m running to continue the work I started in my last term. I feel it is important to ensure decisions are make with facts and not emotion. Strong leadership with great teachers to provide an exceptional education for all students is key at GMG.

What qualities and behaviors should school board members exhibit?

I believe a school board member should exhibit patience, have an open mind, and listen to all stakeholders.

What do you see as the primary roles and responsibilities for the position you are running for?

I’m running for the GMG, Garwin school board position to help provide leadership, business knowledge and ensure school leaders are held accountable.

How would you handle requests if approached by an individual? Special interest group?

As a school board member I think a person always needs to listen to people and provide them directions on who the information needs to be shared with.

What do you feel are the three most important issues the school board will face during your (anticipated) term as a school board member? How do you plan to address those issues?

I believe GMG will need to continue to focus on developing strong leadership with accountability for all members. During this time I believe it will continue to build a positive image of the school’s success for the kids, employees and the community. The last items will be providing direction to the schools future plans for our operations to ensure GMG long term success.

Why should people vote for you on November 2, 2021?

I believe my business background, honesty and integrity are a key value for this position. I believe my connection with the community as the Fire Chief helps make me a strong candidate to continue to offer strong leadership. As the community’s Fire Chief I want to see the school and community continue to grow together and provide exceptional opportunities and education for all students.
