Grundy County Community Foundation seeks governing committee volunteers

The Grundy County Community Foundation (GCCF), an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa (CFNEIA), is seeking volunteers to serve on its governing committee. The GCCF connects people to the causes they care about through charitable giving, enriches Grundy County communities through grantmaking and believes in the power of partnerships. Since 2005, the GCCF has granted over $1.5 million to nonprofits and government agencies serving Grundy County.

The GCCF governing committee consists of up to 15 members elected to serve a term of three years. Committee members must either live or work in Grundy County and have a desire to make the county and all its communities stronger, more inclusive places for all people. The committee is currently seeking volunteers to fill open committee positions beginning in January 2022.

Committee members work in collaboration with CFNEIA staff to carry out the mission of the Foundation. Responsibilities include the review of annual grant applications and distribution of over $100,000 in grants, and active participation in committee discussions about ways to grow the Foundation through fund development, marketing, and other activities.

“The purpose of the Grundy County Community Foundation is to do good for the community and that is driven by committed volunteers who serve on the committee,” said Laurie Everhardt, CFNEIA director of development. “Volunteering for the Community Foundation is an opportunity to learn about the needs in the county and help nonprofits and other entities meet those needs.”

Current members of the GCCF governing committee include: Jessica Eilers, Jeffrey Frank, Lexie Hach, Nick Jans, Jen Jensen, Brandi Morris, Jake Pabst and Angie Thesing.

Individuals interested in volunteering with the GCCF can find more information and complete the online volunteer interest form by Tuesday, November 30, at www.cfneia.org/volunteer. Questions may be directed to Laurie Everhardt at leverhardt@cfneia.org or 319-243-1352.
