Reminders for Grundy Co. voters

The regular city/school election will be held as a combined election on November 2, 2021. The city/school election will use the regular general election precincts. Voters will go to the polls for this election at the same place that they vote for a regular general (presidential or gubernatorial) election.

Absentee ballots will be available for the city/school election on October 13. This is the first day that absentee ballots may be mailed to voters. Eligible voters in Grundy County may file a request for an absentee ballot to be mailed with the Grundy County Auditor’s Office through October 18. An absentee ballot request form is available on the Grundy County website – www.grundycounty.gov – under the heading “Where do I . . . ?” Click on “Vote Absentee” to download an absentee ballot request form. The completed form should be mailed or delivered to the Grundy County Auditor’s Office at 706 G Avenue, Grundy Center, IA 50638.

The Same Day Voter Registration law allows a person who is eligible to register and vote on Election Day (November 2, 2021) by going to the polling place for the voting precinct in which the individual resides and completing a voter registration application, making a written oath, and providing proof of identity and proof of residency. For more information regarding same day voter registration, go to http://tinyurl.com/IOWAEDR. This Same Day Voter Registration procedure may slow up the voting experience for voters choosing to wait until Election Day to register and vote at the polling site.
